Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, observe the appropriate scan tool Deployment Loop Resistance parameter. The reading should be between 1.8-5.12 ohm.
Note: When removing connectors, inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the
affected component/connector:
* Driver steering wheel air bag
* SDM module
* Driver steering wheel air bag wiring harness connector
* SDM wiring harness connector
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the F107 driver steering wheel air bag.
2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the scan tool, wait 120 seconds, test for less than 1.0 ohm between the following control circuit terminals and
ground:
* circuit terminal 2 X1
* circuit terminal 4 X1
瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM.
3. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Deployment Loop Resistance parameter is greater than 5.12 ohm.
瀚慖f less than the specified range, test control circuit terminals for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM.
4. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the following control circuit terminals. Verify the scan tool Deployment Loop Resistance parameter
is less than 1.8 ohm.
* circuit terminal 1 X1 and terminal 2 X1
* circuit terminal 4 X1 and terminal 3 X1
瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,
replace the K36 SDM.
5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the F107 driver steering wheel air bag.
Repair Instructions
