Are things as bad as they seem?

DW and I seriously considering the Pacifica Hybrid Limited or Pinnacle, for various reasons. We do a ton of in town driving compared to highway, but live in cold eastern MA and have 3 kids with lots of stuff for our road trips to family and vacation. The features seem to outweigh everyone else with a mini, my wife wants AWD and we yet I feel like all I'm seeing as I research owning a Pachy is tons of problems with UConnect, Battery issues and things like it stopping or other scary situations... Are things as bad as they seem?
