The EBCM disables the hill start assist for the duration of the ignition cycle.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* A current DTC clears when the diagnostic runs and passes.

* The EBCM will turn OFF the indicator in the next ignition cycle.

Diagnostic Aids

DTC C0186 and C0287 may set after replacing the Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor if the sensor is not configured and setup. Perform the

Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor Module Programming and Setup (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control

Systems/Yaw Rate Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor Module Programming and Setup) and the Vehicle Yaw Sensor

Learn (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Yaw Rate Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Vehicle Yaw

Sensor Learn) procedures to complete the configuration and setup.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition ON, verify that DTC C0800 is not present.

瀚慖f DTC C0800 is present, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (See: Diagnostic Trouble Code

Descriptions/Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle).

2. Verify that DTC C0186 5A, C0196 00, C0196 5A, C019B 5A, C0287 4B, and C0287 5A is not present.

瀚慖f any listed DTC is present, perform the Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor Module Programming and Setup (See: Brakes and Traction

Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Yaw Rate Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor Module

Programming and Setup) and the Vehicle Yaw Sensor Learn (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control

Systems/Yaw Rate Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Vehicle Yaw Sensor Learn).

3. Inspect the B119 Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor for correct installation.

瀚慖f loose or incorrect installation is diagnosed, correct the installation of the component and perform the Vehicle Yaw Sensor Learn (See:

Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Yaw Rate Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Vehicle Yaw Sensor

Learn).

4. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B119 Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor.

5. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down. Test for less than 10 ohm

between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

6. Ignition ON, test for greater than 10 V between the 12 V reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.

瀚慖f less than the specified value, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,
