Action Taken When the DTC Sets

Washer operation is suspended.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* A current DTC clears when the diagnostic runs and passes.

* A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present.

Diagnostic Aids

The headlamp wash feature shall only be allowed to be activated if the low or high beam headlamps are active too.

Circuit/System Verification

Operate the headlamp washer using the S80 Window Wiper/Washer Switch. Verify the G16 Headlamp Washer Fluid Pump activates. The low or

high beam headlamps are ON.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the KR2 Headlamp Washer Fluid Pump Relay.

2. Test for less than 5 ohm between the ground circuit terminal 85 and ground

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance

3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 86 and ground.

4. Ignition ON, command the headlamp washer ON and OFF using the wiper switch. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing

between the commanded states.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the K9 Body Control

Module.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always OFF, test for a short to ground or an open/high resistance on the control circuit. If the circuit tests normal, test or

replace the K9 Body Control Module.

5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the KR2 Headlamp Washer Fluid Pump Relay.

Component Testing

Relay Test

1. Ignition OFF, connect the KR2 Headlamp Washer Fluid Pump Relay.

2. Test for 60-200 ohm between terminals 85 and 86.

瀚慖f the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the relay.
