I own a 2018 PHEV (with 70K miles) which I have long felt had sub-par stereo imaging. By this I mean that music always sounds like it's only playing in one speaker, whichever is closest to you. I've experimented with the balance setting as well as the surround- sound. The only thing that seemed to help was laying something, e.g. a magazine, across the front- center speaker to block it.
